Frencken. It is growing in popularity in many countries, including the
United States, and has been endorsed by the World Health Organization.
A.R.T.
does not require expensive dental equipment or electricity- ideal for
missionaries in remote areas. All that is needed are a few hand
instruments and supplies. Everything can be carried in a backpack.
This slow and gentle approach to dental treatment is most conducive to
painless dentistry - to communicating the great love and compassion of
our God.
A.R.T. HAS GREAT ADVANTAGES
It
is more comfortable for the patient, eliminating the need for
injections or drills making it great with kids or the extremely
fearful.
It
significantly reduces the possibility of creating a pulpal exposure
(often resulting in tooth loss) due to the slow manual application of
pressure.
It
is very inexpensive. It does not require the dental drill with its
expensive operative unit, suction system, and compressor. Even
electricity is not required, making this a great plus to missionaries
working in remote areas. All that is needed are a few hand instruments
and some basic supplies.
It is extremely portable. Everything can be easily carried in a suitcase or backpack.
It is relatively easy to learn, and can be taught in a short period of time.
